Karen Liams

Milind Karve, M.D., F.A.C.C
Dr. Milind Karve is a graduate of Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India.  He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at SUNY, Brooklyn, New York.  After completing his residency and cardiology fellowship he received additional training in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, VA. After completing his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, he came to Lansing and has been in practice since 1994.

Dr. Karve is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Michigan State University and is very active in clinical research and teaching cardiology fellows. Dr. Karve served as Chief of Cardiology for 15 years at the Sparrow Hospital. He is also an Associate Director of Cardiac Cath Lab since 2000. He has served on various committees at both Sparrow Hospital and McLaren of Greater Lansing. He has a Cardiology Clinic every Friday at Sparrow Ionia Hospital. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.

Paul Goldshlack, D.O.
Dr. Paul Goldshlack is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship at Zeiger Osteopathic Hospital in Detroit and internal medicine residency at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center Northern Division in Philadelphia and studied interventional cardiology at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. He was an assistant professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine for four years. Since then he has been an associate professor for the department. He has been in private practice in the Greater Lansing area for more than 30 years. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

Dr. Goldshlack merged his practice with Capital Cardiology in April 2015 and continues to provide general cardiac care on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. He provides cardiology services at the Sparrow Clinton Hospital in St. Johns on Fridays.

Pallav Deka
Dr. Pallav Deka is a PhD prepared nurse practitioner and received his terminal degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2016. He also holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He currently works as an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Michigan State University. Dr. Deka collaborates with Capital Cardiology for his research which focuses on evaluating the physiological effects of exercise in heart failure. His research also investigates strategies using modern technology and equipment for bringing about positive behavior changes for exercise adherence through social engagement, an essential element for bringing about lifestyle/behavioral changes in this population. Dr. Deka worked as a cardiac nurse for 5 years at the Nebraska Medical Center and he is currently working as a part time employee at Capital Cardiology.

Caitlin Mathison, PA-C
Caitlin Mathison attended Central Michigan University where she received a Master of Science in Physician Assistant degree in 2013. Prior to PA school she attended Central Michigan University and received a Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness in Preventive and Rehabilitative Programs and completed an internship at Spectrum Health Cardiac Rehabilitation program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has been working in the cardiology field since 2013. She joined Capital Cardiology in April 2017.

Matthew Morgan, NP
Matthew was born and raised in the Irish Hills of Michigan and attended Lumen Christi High School in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2009. Matthew was initially trained in the intensive care and step-down unit setting in Savannah, Georgia but transferred to an emergency nursing role and worked as a travel emergency room RN. Matthew went back to school and, in 2017, he graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Masters of Science in Nursing degree.
